AFAIK, if you sign up with an OpenID, you are likely to get an invite code when it goes into the next phase.

So far, it's just like livejournal, only with a couple of modifications, and people working very hard to make it work. (Iz speshul snowflake. Haz account already.) So far, I've set up camp and looked around, but it's good to have a backup, and I'll be watching developments eagerly, although right now, I see no need to depart from LJ (I have a permanent account here, and love the features, so I don't have a problem with advertising.)
